Bamboo – good for the environment and even better for you

bamboo clothing

Bamboo clothing has been around for a while. Today bamboo fabric is widely used not only in clothing but also in linens, towels, etc. There are many good reasons why it wasn’t just a temporary trend but in fact, bamboo is widely praised as one of the best materials around.

The benefits of bamboo are multiple. Bamboo grows faster and absorbs more carbon dioxide than hardwood trees so is a sustainable and eco- friendly fabric. Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial, breathable and wicks moisture away from the skin. That’s right, it’s breathable and wicks away sweat! For those of you experiencing hot flushes, this is very important. Have you ever tried to get dressed for a workout, trying to find something in your closet that will not make you feel like you’re wearing a wool pantsuit when that hot flush comes on? If the answer is yes, why not try bamboo clothing?

Bamboo is soft, breathable, moulds to the body without making you feel warm, and provides great stretch capabilities. Bamboo clothing is ideal if you are suffering from hot flushes and are struggling with what to wear, especially when you want to be active. Whether you are doing yoga, Pilates or just being active, bamboo clothing is great – it will help keep you cool and comfortable. It’s also known to be odour resistant, UV-protective and particularly good for sensitive skin.

The BeingEve team recently put bamboo fabric to the test. We wore some bamboo clothing pieces from Asquith for our fitness and yoga videos and they were a big success. Everyone found them super comfortable, very soft and extremely breathable. Even after filming in the sun for several hours, they stayed dry and soft. A five star rating from us!
